One of the most common questions I get is how do you clean beeswax wraps. It's quite simple: To clean your reusable beeswax food wraps, simply rinse with cool water and use natural dish soap, when needed. To dry, drape it over a plate on your dish rack to let it air dry on both sides, and you’re done!
For more detailed instructions, see below for a slightly longer answer:
How to Wash Beeswax Food Wraps:
Mind your Bees signature wraps are made in Canada using our all-natural proprietary ingredients including GOTS-certified organic cotton and Canadian beeswax. Beeswax has natural antibacterial properties which help keep things clean.
For a quick clean, wipe with a damp cloth using cool water.
If you need to give them a good clean, just rinse with cool water and eco-friendly soap if needed. They can be washed and reused for up to a year with proper care. Be sure to avoid any hot water or heat sources around your kitchen.
How to Dry Beeswax Wraps:
Drying beeswax wraps is a breeze. Because the wax coating is naturally waterproof, they dry quickly. Drape them over a plate on your dish rack to let them air dry on both sides, hang them on your faucet or on a clothing line.
How to Store Beeswax Wraps:
Store your wraps in a kitchen drawer you use frequently. Lay them flat or roll them and keep them in the spot you where you used to store your plastic wrap. I like keeping my wraps handy to wrap a quick lunch, folded as a snack bag, or for covering a bowl I can’t seem to find the lid for. You can use them in so many different ways! They are the new kitchen essential to replace your single-use plastics. You can use beeswax wraps for up to a year with proper care.
How to Refresh Beeswax Wraps:
If you find the wax is crumbling a bit, and you're wondering how to make your beeswax wrap sticky again - you can easily renew it with our ReWax kit. It includes our signature beeswax blend and instructions for refreshing your beeswax wraps.
When you're finished with this project, you can plant the instruction card.
